Amelia Martín Uranga

She has a degree in Law from the Universidad de Deusto and a Doctorate in Law from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). Her thesis on the legal protection of biotechnological innovations was published by Comares publishers (2003). She has worked as a researcher and educator at the Inter-university Department for Law and Human Genome at the Universidad de Deusto (where she is the scientific advisor), at the UNED and at the Sheffield Institute of Biotechnological Law and Ethics at the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom). She is also a professor for several post-graduate courses and a member of the Ethics Committee at the Rare Diseases Research Institute, in the Carlos III Health Institute. In 2006 she joined FARMAINDUSTRIA to take charge primarily of the secretariat for the Spanish Technological Platform for Innovative Medicines. She has participated in several national and international Conventions, Seminars, Workshops, and has published a variety of works on subjects related to biotechnology and law.
